Post Suggestions for Skate Tours
Does anyone have any desired skate tours of Portland?

We could do a pub crawl/skate. Would that be wise?

As long as you made it a one pint w/ food / skate it off / one pint w/ food / skate it off kind of thing, I don't think anyone would get too drunk. :D You'd sweat it all out. Just remember to eat something at every place and drink plenty of water!

Is this an open tour or team?

Pub crawl/skate: Something to consider is RCR sponsors, some 'em let people in with skates on.

Open. As part of Quadtastrophe.

I once led a bicycle bar tour of inner SE starting at Root, ending at Roadside Attraction, and never leaving a ~8x6 block grid. 17 bars in that grid, definitely more drinking than biking. I don't remember the last 5 stops, but I was seen at Roadside. Here's the map.

I don't recommend trying that again... but inner SE industrial district is a great place to do this!

Otherwise I think doing a fountain tour (downtown) or park-to-park tour (NE, SE, or North) could be cool. Or a pinball tour! Hit all the good tables on the East Side (sort of the pub crawl with a purpose more than drinking).

I like the Pinball idea. Are you still planning on doing some of the skate parks?

Hopworks Brewpub is having their annual "Biketoberfest" celebration during Quadtastrophe. Does anyone with experience of that area think it would be a good place for a skate?

ABSO-freekin'-LUTELY!!!

That is an event that Good Sport Promotion puts on. It will be an awesome event and it benefits the Bicycle Transportation Alliance as well as Sunday Parkways.

I find the website doesn't give the appropriate appeal (however is a good schedule). Here's how we advertise it on facebook and newsletters:

Quote:
Hopworks Urban Brewery is hosting the world's only bike-in Oktoberfest to celebrate an incredible summer of riding bikes in Portland. BiKETOBEERFEST is a day of relaxing the way only Oregonians know how: by riding bikes and drinking delicious handcrafted beer.

A benefit for the Bicycle Transportation Alliance and Portland Sunday Parkways, BiKETOBEEREST is a full day of bicycle amazement accompanied by award-winning beer at Hopworks Urban Brewery, the only brewery to serve their beer directly out of a bike- their custom-constructed bar bike. Hopworks is opening up their gigantic parking lot for a bikes-only extravaganza filled with great food, fun for all ages and plenty of velo merriment.

There are five live bands on a keg-supported stage, Goldsprints roller races hosted by Team Beer, 15 Hopworks beers on tap, a menu of fresh food options, flatlanders (BMX trick riders) and a Huffy Bike Toss. Kid friendly games and activities are scheduled for the earlier part of the day. Get ready for a wild day of bikes, bands and beers!

Fun, fun, fun!!
